Bio
Brooks Roy enters his fourth year as the head coach of Edmonds College Baseball in 2025-26. His interim tag was lifted after the 2022-23 season when he was promoted when previous longtime head coach Scott Kelly moved on to the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. In all, he's entering his ninth year with the program. Under Kelly, Roy served as pitching coach. After the 2021-22 season Roy was honored as the NWAC North Region Assistant Coach of the Year. In all, his head coaching record at Edmonds is 90-55 overall.
For many years he was a coach with the Kirkland Merchants organziation and was a pitching instructor at EL1 Sports. Roy was previously the team's assistant/pitching coach prior to moving into the head coaching role. Roy is a former Triton hurler who played for Brad Ditter in 2010-11, helped them to a North Region title, before moving on to finish his career at Liberty University. Roy, a right-hander pitcher, prepped at Franklin Pierce High School. He posted a 11-6 record with a 3.08 ERA in 30 appearances. His career ERA ranks fifth best on Liberty's all-time list.
In 2023 the Tritons finshed 37-15 and hosted a Super Regional as the No. 2-seed from the North Region. Edmonds topped Clark twice to advance to the NWAC Championship Tournament/Elite 8 and were bounced in two games in Longview, 3-1 to Lower Columbia and 6-2 to Lane. The club finshed tied for 7th in the NWAC.
In 2024 Edmonds was the No. 2-seed from the North Region and defeated Southwestern Oregon twice to win their Super Regional at Triton Field. Edmonds would advance to the NWAC Championship Tournament/Elite 8 and won their first game 1-0 over Spokane behind a dominant complete game pitching performance from Will Franklin. The Tritons lost to Tacoma and were eliminated by Lower Columbia 2-1 in 11 innings to end their season. The team won 26 games and placed 5th overall at NWACs.
Last season (2025) Edmonds notched 27 victories and earned the No. 3-seed from the North Region, extending the program's postseason streak to x consecutive years. After blanking Southwestern Oregon 5-0 in an elimination game, Edmonds took the host Tacoma to the brink falling in dramatic fashion 13-12. Tacoma would go on to play in the NWAC title game. The 2025 season saw two Triton hurlers toss no-hitters -- Lathan Haywood against Skagit Valley on April 18, and Matthew Britton on April 26 versus Douglas.
Roy lives with his wife Samantha and recently welcomed a new baby boy Tage to their family.
