Bio
Casey Mitchell returns for his third stint with the Triton baseball program in 2026 and will assume the pitching coach duties as he has in his six years with Edmonds overall. Last year, in 2024-25, he remained connected as a liasion for the team. The 2023-24 season was his fourth overall with the program. In 2017-18 he helped the Tritons to a North Region title and a 3rd place finish. In 2018-19 the Tritons placed 7th overall, as well as in 2022-23, his first year back on staff after his first go round under former coach Scott Kelly.
Mitchell was a southpaw that transferred to Saint Martin's University (2008-11) after playing for Spokane Falls CC in 2007-08). In 2008 he was ERA was in the top 10 of all NWAC. He is still in the top 5 for all-time career wins at Saint Martin's. Mitchell graduated from Capital High School in Olympia and started his coaching career when he playing career ended. He's served as GSL Tournaments Assistant Director (2011-2013) and was a graduate assistant/pitching coach at Saint Martin's from 2011-13. When he was a head coach in the Puget Sound Collegiate League he won a league title, and was the head coach of the Pilchuck Pioneers (2014-15) of the Northwest Collegiate Baseball League. From 2017-18 he served as the head coach of the North Sound Emeralds, a semi-pro team in the Pacific International League. The 2018 summer, Mitchell led the Emeralds to a 3rd place finish at the Grand Forks International Tournament. From 2013-17 Mitchell was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Skagit Valley College. He is also certified in Rapsodo and has background in operating and managing indoor training facilities.
The 2018 Triton pitching staff set an NWAC record with a team ERA of 1.71. At Edmonds he's developed eight 1st-Team All-Region pitchers, six All-Region gold glovers, and has coached over 80 student-athletes on to four-year universities.
