North Region play has arrived: Edmonds men face Bellevue on Wednesday
LYNNWOOD -- Wednesday marks the beginning of NWAC North Region action for the Edmonds men's basketball team. The Tritons head to Bellevue for a 5 p.m. tipoff to start the 14-game stretch as they look to qualify for the NWAC Tournament in March.
Edmonds (9-6) ripped off five wins to begin the campaign, then hit some adversity losing five straight. Four consecutive wins ensued before Saturday's loss at Centralia.
Freshman Avidan West leads the team in scoring, averaging over 18 points per game. The three-headed sophomore attack of Kyrylo Kapinos (14 ppg, 6.8 rpg), Isaiah Lopez (12.3 ppg) and Sam Lockhart (10.1 ppg) has steadied the team. Freshmen Sebastian Cooper and Romeo Webber have also been key contributors.
North foes Skagit Valley (ranked No. 1) and Bellevue (ranked No. 5) are the two region representatives in the last Coaches Poll that was released back on December 16. Edmonds hosts Skagit on Saturday, January 10 in Seaview Gym.
General admission is $8 for all home games. Youth (12-18), seniors (over 65), non-Edmonds students, and military/veterans are $5. Children under 12 are free as well as all Edmonds College students and staff with a valid EdPass. The only method of payment accepted is debit or credit card.
All Triton home games are streamed here. The majority of road contests are streamed on the NWAC Sports Network Channel.
