Dagi Kesim leads new era of Edmonds men’s soccer
LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Daghan "Dagi" Kesim has been selected as the next head coach of the Edmonds men's soccer program, effective March 16, 2026.
Dagi has deep ties to the college being a former international student who came to Edmonds from Turkey. He is the founder, technical director, and director of coaching for Gala FC (2013-present). With Gala he oversees all age groups, including the high school academy program and the semi-professional team. He has been a trainer for Everett CC in the past, was head coach for Snohomish FC (semi-pro soccer club) from 2017-2022, was the assistant coach for Trinity Lutheran University (2011-2013) and served as head coach there in 2013-2014.
"Dagi is the right person to lead our program. He is passionate, intense, and will have high expectations for our student-athletes," said athletic director Spencer Stark.
"He's been a name on our list the last few times this position opened. We are very excited to help him build a culture and competitive program," Stark added.
Dagi has worked with other soccer clubs in the region, has coached high school boys and girls soccer, and has his bachelor's degree in Psychology. He has his US National B license and is an A License candidate. Kesim has a strong track record with Coach of the Year and Trainer of the Year accolades. He enjoys the challenge of rebuilding programs and believes in education-based athletics, consistently accomplishing success with teams that were not initially favored. His vision is for the team to fight like underdogs and play like champions.
"I am excited to give back to a school that started my journey in the United States. My objective is to establish a foundational legacy that will be enduringly recognized by the institution, honoring both those who facilitated my appointment and my own contributions. Ultimately, I aspire to positively impact a significant number of individuals throughout my career," said Kesim.
All interested recruits should reach out to Dagi via email or cell phone.
