BELLINGHAM -- It was another tight battle, and it ended with another Triton win. Led by Keira Slippern's 19 points, EC women's hoops collected their third consecutive win on Wednesday night at Whatcom, 71-68.
Point guard Maggie Salas logged 38 minutes and turned in another well-rounded performance -- 12 points (6 coming from the charity stripe), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. The team only shot 35% from the field and 56% from the line, but still overcame and closed the game out when it mattered in the final minutes. Dreanna Jackson netted 11 points; Kayanna Jackson and Jada Walters scored 9 each. Kyana Brucelas grabbed 9 boards and continues to be a tenacious defender.
Edmonds (10-6, 4-1) returns to Seaview Gym on Saturday when they face Bellevue (7-13, 3-2) at 2 p.m.
