No. 3 Pirates defeat Triton women

PORT ANGELES -- Peninsula took control of the contest early and stayed in front of Edmonds from tip to finish Saturday. The 15-point advantage after the first quarter gave the Pirates breathing room, and they went on to win 87-59.

The offense fired up 24 shots from behind the arc but only connected on three. Peninsula's rebounding edge (48-21) proved to be too much. Ava Uusitalo was the most efficient of the players who scored in double figures for EC, posting 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting.

Edmonds (1-1, 6-8) returns to Seaview Gym to take on Shoreline CC Wednesday night, January 15.
