Women's hoops begins North Region competition on Wednesday
LYNNWOOD -- NWAC North Region play starts for the Edmonds women's hoops squad on Wednesday at Bellevue. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. following the men's tilt. Edmonds finished non-league 3-9 and fought through injuries, but that could help the team later on as the slog of region action begins.
Freshman Hailey Mata has paced the offense, averaging 12.2 points per game. Sophomore Ava Uusitalo is dropping 10.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 2.2 apg. Sophomore Kiani Hoolulu has battled injury, but is still scoring over eight points per contest, and local product Payton Fleishman is contributing 8 ppg, and 2 steals per game.
Peninsula is the only region team ranked (No. 5) in the last Coaches Poll that was released back on December 16. Edmonds will host Skagit in their league opener on Saturday, January 10 in Seaview Gym.
General admission is $8 for all home games. Youth (12-18), seniors (over 65), non-Edmonds students, and military/veterans are $5. Children under 12 are free as well as all Edmonds College students and staff with a valid EdPass. The only method of payment accepted is debit or credit card.
All Triton home games are streamed here. The majority of road contests are streamed on the NWAC Sports Network Channel.
