LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Edmonds College (6-3-1, 3-2-1) dominated Shoreline Community College (0-6, 0-6) with an 8-0 victory on Wednesday, as the team notched four goals in each half to secure a shutout win at home.
The first half commenced with Edmonds taking an early lead, as Gizelle Serrano found the back of the net just over two minutes into the game. The home team quickly extended their lead with Emmalynn Kuenning scoring in the ninth minute, followed by Milina Mazon, assisted by Galilea Margarito-Colchado, shortly thereafter. Despite hitting the crossbar and a series of offside calls against them, Edmonds maintained control, culminating in Priscilla Lam scoring in the 39th minute. The scoreboard at the end of the half read Edmonds 4, Shoreline 0.
The second half began with Edmonds extending their lead decisively. Early in the period, Serrano found the net in the 48th minute, bringing the score to 5-0. Kari Adams added another goal in the 58th minute, further widening the gap. Shortly after, Breanna Angulo scored in the 60th minute, followed by Aidyn McIntosh hitting the back of the net in the 66th minute, increasing Edmonds' advantage to 8-0. Despite Shoreline's defensive efforts, including several saves by goalkeeper Hermella Embaye, Edmonds maintained pressure through several shots and corner kicks, leaving Shoreline unable to respond. The game concluded with Edmonds leading 8-0 at the final whistle.
Lam scored a goal on her only shot attempt, contributing to Edmonds' offense. Angulo added a goal, converting one of her two shots into a score. Mazon also found the back of the net, finishing with a total of five shots, three of which were on goal. Serrano led the attack with two goals, including the game-winner, while taking five shots.
Edmonds improved to 6-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play following the decisive victory. Next up, Edmonds will face off at Bellevue on October 8.
